The Federal Reserve Bank broke ground in 2003 for a 220,000 sq. ft. building at Warren and Russel, just east of the Cultural Center. Now complete, the $8 million project has a state-of-the-art system for cash and check processing and a conference center that can accomodate 200 people. Design of the Detroit Intermodal Transportation Complex is underway. This station will serve passengers using Amtrak, inter-city bus, local bus and potentially a Woodward fixed route transit. This is a new mixed-income housing development, located near Forest and the Lodge Freeway on the former Jeffries Homes public housing site. The project is partially complete and includes 247 rental units, 101 for-sale newly constructed homes, and 100 enhanced senior units.
