New Center

 Cadillac Place
The State of Michigan has a new home in the General Motors Building.  The renovation of the 1.3 million sq. ft. building is complete and 1,200 State of Michigan employees have already moved in. 
  
 Detroit Youth Foundation - Youthville
Located at the southwest corner of Woodward and Lothrop, the Detroit Youth Foundation has renovated the 71,000 sq. ft. facility into a neighborhood youth development center.  The center will hous 11 youth family service organizations.  Total investment is $12 millions.
  
 Federal Reserve Bank
The Federal Reserve Bank broke ground in 2003 for a 220,000 sq. ft. building at Warren and Russel, just east of the Cultural Center.  Now complete, the $8 million project has a state-of-the-art system for cash and check processing and a conference center that can accomodate 200 people.  The facility opened in 2005 and houses 274 employees.
  
 Intermodal Station
Design of the Detroit Intermodal Transportation Complex is underway.  This station will serve passengers using Amtrak, inter-city bus, local bus and potentially a Woodward fixed route transit.  The station will be located just south of the Cn railroad tracks between Woodward and Cass Avenues.  $11 million has been allocated for the project.

Lofts at New Center
Construction of 101 units of for-sale lofts, some with live/work options.  Located off Woodward between Bethune and Second Avenues, the starting price for the units is $149,000.  All units have been sold. 

  
 New Amsterdam Development Project
This project involves the redevelopment of a district located in southern New Center between the CN railroad tracks and I-94, between Woodward and Second Avenues.  The district will be redeveloped into a mixed-use community consisting of 130 residential lofts, townhomes, and accompanying retail space.  Total cost of the project is approximately $60 million.

Construction of 47-unit townhome development at Lothrop and Third Avenues is complete.  All units have been sold.

Wayne State University, Henry Ford Health System, GM and other partners are jointly developing a Tech Park between Woodward, Third, CN railroad tracks and Antoinette.  The project is anchored by the 140,000 sq. ft. Tech One building, at 440 Burroughs.  Across the street is the 35,000 sq. ft. Next Energy Center building.  The center consists of laboratory, business incubator, collaborative meeting space and other features to suport the alternative energy industry.
  
 University Prep Academy
Five new buildings have been constructed on the block bounded by York, Second, Antoinette, and Third.  The new charter school campus accomodates high school students.
  
 The Villas at Medbury Park
Construction is almost complete on 89 mixed-income townhomes in the area north of I-94, generally bounded by John R, Brush, and Harper.  Plans are currently underway for Phase II of the project.

East of I-75

                            St. Regis Hotel
This historic hotel was recently renovated for new hotel rooms.  Phase II of the hotel renovation is to begin in early 2008.

Woodbridge

This is a new mixed-income housing development, located near Forest and the Lodge Freeway on the former Jeffries Homes public housing site.  The project is partially complete and includes 247 rental units, 101 for-sale newly constructed homes, and 100 enhanced senior units.  The total cost of the project is $97 million.
  
     woodbridge_star_small.jpgWoodbridge Star Bed & Breakfast
The renovation of this historic mansion into a 7 1/2 bedroom bed and breakfast was completed in July 2001.  Each room of this renovated home features a stained-glass window and are individually decorated with a different theme.  The total investment cost was over $350,000.
  
     vanvliet_small.jpgVan Viliet Condominiums
The rehabilitation of a historic apartment building into sixteen condominium units is complete.  Prices on these units range from $143,000-$165,000.  The total project investment is $2.2 million.
